Excision

Surgical excision, also known as removal of a skin formation, is the complete removal of benign (nevi, cysts, seborrheic vertebrae, etc.) and malignant formations on the skin. This completely eliminates the risk of malignant degeneration (malignancy) and spread to the surrounding skin or other organs of the body.

After excision of the lesion with a scalpel, the wound is closed with surgical sutures and covered with a sterile waterproof bandage. The intervention lasts between 20-30 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area. There may be a slight swelling after the intervention. Bleeding and sagging of the sutures are rare. Skin infections and allergic reactions to anaesthesia are very rare. 

The operative wound heals in 7 to 10 days. It is recommended not to get wet for at least 48 hours and to avoid excessive physical effort until the sutures are removed.
