Onychomycosis or also called fungal infection of the nail plates is a chronic disease that slowly leads to the destruction of the nail plate on both hands and feet. Onychomycosis is usually characterized by a visible change in the condition of the nails – they become darker, harder and more easily brittle. An additional sign is the unpleasant odor in the area. 

How does a fungal infection develop? 
 
Onychomycosis most often begins with visible cracking of the skin or slight changes in the nail. It changes color to yellow in the initial phase of onychomycosis and gradually spreads down to the base of the nail. The fungal infection starts in one nail and spreads to the other nails as well as the skin around them 

How is onychomycosis treated? 

The most successful method for treating onychomycosis is  laser treatment with a Nd: Yag laser.Nail sessions, once a week, are required. A single treatment of the nail takes a few minutes and is associated with minimal discomfort during treatment. Completely painless and safe way. Clinical studies confirm that the procedure is successful and the results of treatment are preserved in the long run. No side effects were observed, unlike medication. 

When can I see the effect? 

The effect is usually noticed around the 3rd-4th procedure and is expressed in the resumption of nail growth and / or restoration of its normal color.
