Paint lift
The malarial lift lifts the soft tissues of the cheekbones, thus reducing the depth of the nasolabial folds. The skin in the cheekbones becomes smooth, taut and this gives the face a younger and more pleasant look. The look is refreshing, as lower blepharoplasty is also performed during the malarial lift.
Before the intervention itself the patient should go through a consultation with our specialist. During the consultation the desired result will be discussed and to what extent it is possible to be achieved. It will be shown where the incisions will be made and will be explained the technique that is going to be used. The patient can ask questions about the intervention and any diseases and allergies if any.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia, although it can be performed under local anaesthesia and intravenous sedation. The duration is about an hour. The incision is made 2 mm below the lash line, as in the procedure for lower blepharoplasty. The skin is dissected, the soft tissues are separated from the cheekbone bone and pulled upwards. They are sewn in depth, which gives stability and durability to the achieved result. Then lower blepharoplasty is performed by removing the fat sacs / “bags” / under the eyes.
The result is very good and long lasting, the cheekbones are contoured and the face is visibly refreshed. There is usually swelling and bruising under the eyes after the operation in the first days after the operation. Cold compresses can help these symptoms go away faster. Discomfort and pain are affected by the most common painkillers. The sutures are removed on the 4th day, but for complete recovery and disappearance of discomfort it is good to provide 7-10 days.
The scars should not be exposed to direct sunlight or when this happens, they should be smeared with a high sun protection factor so as not to pigment. It is recommended to wear glasses during the first 7 days.
