Breast augmentation with implants is one of the most sought after procedures in plastic surgery. Through this operation is achieved: increasing the volume, improving the shape and correction of the slightest degree of sagging breasts. The operation also successfully corrects breast asymmetry. Suitable for the operation are all women over 18 who have a small bust and want to increase it. The small bust is an obstacle for many of them. They usually wear padded bras, feel uncomfortable when wearing a bathing suit and from this point of view are limited in their choice of clothes – dresses with a bare back or larger necklines. In addition, after childbirth and breastfeeding, most women’s breasts lose some of their volume and sag to varying degrees. In cases where there is a more serious sagging of the breasts, breast augmentation and lifting is performed within one operation.

Patient  should also inform the Surgeon about your illnesses, if any, and the medications you are taking.

The procedure lasts about an hour. It is performed under general anesthesia. Depending on the chosen technique, the appropriate incisions are made, pockets are formed on both sides of the breast and implants are placed in them. At the end of the operation, aspiration drains are placed. The incisions are sutured and a surgical dressing is placed over them. An elasto-compression bandage is placed over the chest.

The result of the procedure is extremely good and long lasting. During the submuscular placement of the implants, the breasts are formed by the 6th month. Initially, the implants stand higher, but gradually, with the relaxation of the pectoral muscle, they go down and finally take their position. Regarding the need to replace implants, practice shows that it is advisable to replace them every 20 years, although according to the manufacturers they are lifelong.

After one week, most patients can return to work. At the earliest after a month and a half you can go to the gym. Lifting heavy objects and stretching for about a month after surgery should be avoided until the chest tissues and muscles have recovered. During the first months, the scars should not be exposed to the sun or solarium, so as not to pigment.
