Brachioplasty 

The brachioplasty procedure is used to shape the contour of the upper part of the arms and remove sagging skin and subcutaneous tissue between the shoulder and elbow. Тhe hands acquire a tight appearance and proportionality to the rest of the body. This aesthetic defect occurs most often in older women, but it is also common in younger patients who have been overweight after significant weight loss because the skin consequently sags. This is a prerequisite for a problem for many people from an aesthetic point of view and they begin to avoid wearing certain clothes and stop feeling good in their skin. Fortunately, this is a reversible process and at the Bellissimo Clinic we offer this type of correction. 

Pre-intervention consultation is mandatory so that the doctor performing the procedure is fully aware of the patient and assesses whether the procedure is appropriate. 

During the examination, a photo is taken, reflecting the condition of the hands at the moment, the desired result is discussed and to what extent it can be achieved. The doctor will clearly explain to you exactly where the incisions will be made and will give guidelines on how to take care of the treated area after the procedure. 

The procedure itself is performed under general anaesthesia for about 2 hours. An incision is made from the armpits to the elbow. The length of the incision depends on the excess skin and fat that needs to be removed. The incisions are sutured immediately after surgery and covered with a surgical dressing. The procedure is painless and the recovery period does not last long. The sutures are removed after about 12 days, the dressings are changed every 2 days after surgery. Immediately after the intervention, you should stop the heavy physical activity, and you can gradually stop it at least two weeks later. To prevent infections it is recommended to take an antibiotic for a week.
