Biopsy is one of the privileges of dermatology because the skin is a very easily accessible organ. Sometimes the same skin changes are a typical symptom of different skin diseases that require а different treatment. To make the right decision, the dermatologist needs a more in-depth look, which is provided by examining the tissues under a microscope. 

A biopsy is an intervention that is performed in the presence of tumours in various organs and parts of the body to determine their appearance and nature. Through this method 

the skin is examined at the cellular and sometimes molecular level. 

The procedure is completely painless. Local anaesthesia is applied, with a very slight sting. The biopsy is performed with a specific instrument called a punch, 

with the help of which a circle is cut from the affected skin with a diameter of 2-6 mm., depending on the needs of the study. The wound that remains usually heals in a few days.
